Research scholarship in transplant surgery

The Euroliver Foundation offered a scholarship for research into cellular and molecular transplant immunology. A Master's Degree (or equivalent) and basic surgical training were required (at least some experience in microsurgery for heterotopic heart surgery in rodents). Knowledge of basic cellular and molecular biological techniques were desired as well as experience in transplant models.

The two main research topics were:

• the study of the mechanisms of tolerance in allotransplantation models
• the study of models of premature rejection of xenografts.
